As an insurance brokerage, we’re proud to be part of Chef Shai Mandel’s business protection plan. Shai is the Founder and CEO of Rooks to Cooks, GTA’s most innovative culinary school for kids. We see many great businesses and learn a lot from each. However, in the case of Shai Mandel, we’re amazed by her determination to give back to the younger generation – the same young generation where it all started for her. The Rooks to Cooks mission is simple: we will empower our students to become more independent by building self-confidence and supporting self-expression through culinary education.
Shai has entered into the Greatest Baker Competition and is in need of your support! Shai will compete with bakers from around the world in the world’s largest online competition for bakers! The winner will receive worldwide recognition as The Greatest Baker of 2020, a year’s supply of Stuffed Puffs, he/she will also be featured in Bake from Scratch Magazine, and win $10,000!
If Shai wins, she plans to use the prize money to help build affordable virtual programs for low income families. Prior to COVID-19, she would provide cooking summer camps, after school programs and birthday parties. But COVID-19 is not slowing her down. We can find Shai online providing virtual cooking classes to children. What a fantastic idea!
