This program is in place to specifically cover the needs of practicing pharmacists. The professional liability insurance is offered Canada wide. We understand that your business is high risk and unique, which is why have teamed with an insurance company that specializes in your industry.  In this package we offer a competitive rate at which you can feel safe and know that you are covered in the event of a loss.

Individual Professional Liability for Pharmacists & Pharmacy Technicians

This package has a choice between two types of coverage’s

  • $2,000,000 per occurrence with a $4,000,000 annual aggregate
  • $5,000,000 per occurrence with a $5,000,000 annual aggregate and $100,000 legal expense for defense in proceedings against you by the Ontario College of Pharmacists’ Disciplinary Board, with a $200,000 annual aggregate

This package, and both types also include:

  • Protection for all compensatory damages (subject to policy limits) for which you are legally obligated to pay, resulting from the rendering or failure to render your professional services as mandated by Ontario College of Pharmacists. Provides coverage if you act as a consultant, dispensing full or part-time.
  • No deductible
  • Premiums written on a 12 month policy term
  • Defense from dollar one
  • Prior acts of coverage
  • No membership or association fees to access OCP approved insurance

Annual premium:

  • $195.00 plus tax for $2,000,000 occurrence limit
  • $315.00 plus tax for $5,000,000 occurrence limit
  • Under the “Expanded Scope of Practice” as outlined in OCP Ont. Reg. 302/12, October 2012:
    • Injection Service Coverage | $2MM limit: $65 or $5MM limit: $65
    • Narcotics Signer Coverage | $2MM limit: $40 or $5MM limit: $70
